Sanasuma Yoga is made up of a small community of teachers who have come together with a common goal - to help guide others in their life journey during these turbulent times.
All our teachers are qualified Kundalini yoga teachers and members of IKYTA (International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association) and fulfil the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 200 hour and advanced 500 hour requirement.
Shaunagh discovered Kundalini Yoga in Sri Lanka in 2007, and in the following year she attended and completed the first Level 1 Teacher training course in Sri Lanka, led by Tonie Nooyens and Shiv Charan. She has been teaching for 15 years in both the UK and Sri Lanka. She went on to complete
all the level 2 KRI courses and is a certified teacher and Teacher Trainer. She has a passion for life and her classes are full of fun and laughter. She makes yoga playful, whilst teaching from the heart, creating a cozy, intimate
and healing space, which allows you to explore your inner and outer self. She specializes in the science of sound, leading Gong Baths, healing meditations and relaxation sessions for retreats, teacher training and workshops.
Fiona discovered the transformational effect of Kundalini Yoga in South America, having left a stressful job as a lawyer in London. She has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for 19 years, is a Level 1 & 2 KRI Certified teacher and is presently Lead Teacher Trainer in the Aquarian Academy. Fiona is a passionate and dedicated teacher whose use of the sacred science of Kundalini yoga kriyas and meditations assist students to cope with life.
Her background in the corporate world, enables her to build a bridge of understanding for individuals and corporate groups creating programs for burnt out execs looking to recharge their batteries and learn new life lessons. She also gives Gong baths. The Gong is a tool that recreates the original sound current of the Universe. This sound bathes the human mind and allows a person to deeply relax as the brain moves into a theta wave. In that state we heal physically, mentally and emotionally.
Sara is a Kundalini yoga level 1 and 2 teacher and teacher trainer. She lived in Sri Lanka for 20 years and has recently relocated back to the UK.
In her own words:
“When I found Kundalini Yoga through the Level 1 teacher training in 2013, I began the journey of finding myself. Up until that point my lack of self esteem and inner confidence had led to some poor decision making until I found myself literally backed into a corner of my life. The learning of yogic philosophy, a consistent practice of yoga and meditation and the support and guidance of my teachers and community helped me to find the courage to make some necessary and transformative changes. I haven’t looked back since. The deep discovery of self through yoga is the gift that keeps on giving and if you are reading this I encourage you to begin that journey as soon as you recognise the invitation.

I believe in living in the flow of life and its journey. Everything comes at the right time and place and so Kundalini Yoga came across my path in 2013. Since 2014 I am a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and immediately I started teaching classes. I was so eager and ready to learn more
about myself, life and everything we are and are not. With this feeling, I continued this journey and did my level 2 modules the following years. In my learning, I've met my true self and my healing capabilities. So, when I move backed to the Netherlands in July 2017 I went back to school and after 4 years I now call myself an essence therapist. I still enjoy the everyday process and progress of my journey.
“Life is a continuous vibration of up and down. And in this up and down, try to be neutral; be seated in your own spiritual integrity.” - Yogi Bhajan
What our students say
Never have I felt more seen, welcomed and encouraged in a yoga class than I have with Sanasuma. The teachers have individual teaching styles and you feel supported in your own journey.
